Kaguya

This is a fine art giclée print from my original watercolor and mixed media illustration, Kaguya. This piece is based on the oldest extant Japanese prose narrative, The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter (竹取物語, Taketori Monogatari). It’s about a mysterious girl called Kaguya, who was discovered as a baby inside the stalk of a glowing bamboo plant, who is eventually revealed as being the daughter of the moon.
